Ms. Amanda Monaco —General Studies

My name is Amanda Monaco and I am happy to introduce myself as your student’s new 5th grade teacher. I recently moved from Northern Virginia to California this summer, where my husband accepted a new position in Irvine. While in Virginia, I have been teaching in a high performing public school for the past three years.  It was the best time of my life!

I am originally from a very small town in Upstate New York.  I graduated from SUNY Oswego with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I then went on to pursue my Master’s degree from the same university, with an emphasis on Literacy Education.

In my free time I love spending time with my husband and our cat, Boogey. I also love reading, traveling, and rollerblading.

Teaching and learning has always been a passion of mine. I am so excited to get to know your children and learn from them. I am looking forward to a fantastic school year!  Thank you for welcoming me to your community, and sharing your student’s with me.

Rabbi Mendy Drihem—Judaic Studies

It is truly an honor and privilege to join the Hebrew Academy family. I grew up in Montreal and had the wonderful opportunity of learning in Israel for some time. I have always had a passion for teaching, and am glad to be able to share this passion in such a wonderful school, working along side the most supportive administration,  teachers, and staff. My goal and vision as a teacher is for every student to feel comfortable so they can grow to become the best person they can be.

Mrs. Miriam Gold—Hebrew Language

Mrs. Gold is a legendary Ivrit instructor. She is in her 3rd decade of teaching at the Hebrew Academy. She takes great pride in having taught many of her students’ parents. Her aim is to have each of her students love and master the Hebrew language. Many of her student’s return from their time in Israel full of gratitude for the phenomenal Hebrew Language skills and love for Israel they acquired during their time in Mrs. Gold’s class.
