Marjan Jahanfard - Middle and High School Math Teacher

Marjan JahanfardMarjan graduated cum laude from University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Psychology with a minor in French. She then earned her Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from University of Pittsburgh. After working in the corporate world for several years, she received her teaching credential in K-12 mathematics also from University of Pittsburgh.  For the past 6 years, Marjan has taught a variety mathematics classes at the Hebrew Academy ranging from general math to pre-calculus. This year, she is solely teaching in the middle school.

Greg SchneiderGreg graduated with honors from the University of California at Irvine.  He has made teaching a life-long pursuit starting with teaching driver education just 2 years after he graduated from high school. After 4 years of teaching driving he went back to school to earn his BA with the intent of pursuing a career as an attorney. Six years later, he found himself missing the joy of aiding discovery which led him back to UCI to earn his teaching credentials.  He has spent the last 16 years teaching science and general education to students ranging in age from 8 to 18.  His passion for empowering others shines through in all his interactions here at the Hebrew Academy.

 

Raychel Lydon - Middle and High School History Teacher

Raychel LydonRaychel graduated cum laude from UCLA with a B.A. in History and earned her M.Ed from UCSB's Graduate School of Education. A fully credentialed teacher with more than ten years of teaching and tutoring experience, Raychel has worked successfully with a wide-range of students from a variety of different cultural, economic, linguistic and educational backgrounds. She has also taught English as a foreign language and worked as an instructional assistant for students with special needs, including those with ADD, ADHD, and other learning disabilities.

Teaching Credential- University of California, Irvine.

Masters in Education - University of California, Irvine.

A high school mathematics teacher who has taught a full range of class, including; Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, and Consumer Mathematics.

 

Michelle Ginsburg - Middle and High School English Teacher

Michele GinsburgMichelle graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in sociology and a minor in psychology.  She then attended Columbia University and studied nursing.  Following two years in the field of OB/GYN, she chose a new path to teaching.  After earning a teaching credential at National University she taught locally as a middle school teacher, first and second grade in Virginia, then ESL in Ecuador.  She has taught grades K-12 in the public and private sector for nearly 20 years, mostly part-time, in addition to working with critically ill students in the home and hospital environment.  Along with tutoring for the past 8 years in math and English, she has been a substitute teacher in Tustin. Michelle currently teaches English in the middle school and works as a resource to the high school.

Jennifer Bledsoe - Middle and High School English Teacher

Jennifer BledsoeJennifer graduated cum laude from California State University, Long Beach with a B.A. in English, emphasis in education.  After teaching high school in the Torrance Unified School District for 6 years, she returned to earn a Master of Arts in Education at Azusa Pacific University, with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction.  She taught for 6 more years before devoting herself to raising her children.  Once they reached school age, she happily returned to education, and is in her third year of teaching at The Hebrew Academy.  Throughout her teaching career she has specialized in teaching students with learning disabilities and English Language Learners.  She teaches English to all of our high school students, and provides Academic Support to our upper school.
