Greetings everyone and a warm welcome to all the new families of the Hebrew Academy!

 

The Parent Association and the school are here to help ensure that you, and your child’s transitions are as smooth as possible.

Below is a list of FAQ’s that may help you with many of your initial questions.

Look for additional Parent Association (PA) information coming home soon.

  • What is the school’s website?

  • What are the school’s mascot and colors?

The mascot is the ram and the colors are school bus yellow and burgundy.

  • What is the main number to the school?

714-898-0051

  • Where should parents park for drop-off?

Parent parking is in the big parking lot just north of the campus.

Gates are open from 7:45 am until 8:05 am. After that time, this is considered tardy and your child must enter through the administration office and be buzzed in. All parents must use their security key badges on campus for security and accountability purposes. Pick up is in the same lot at 3:30 pm. Please follow directional signs in and out, and always use blue walkways for safety.

  • Where do I get a parent ID badge/Electronic Key?

Contact the Receptionist at the front desk in the administration office to obtain an ID badge which is also your gate key for entering AND exiting the campus. You will need to bring your driver’s license.

  • How do I get a copy of the school newsletter?

Check out our website under the “News” tab. An electronic copy is emailed to your family email every Thursday. This is the lifeblood of the school and your method of being aware and on top of things. Please, please read the newsletter weekly.

  • How do I find out about after school programs?

    Go to the school website and click on the "About Us" tab. Then look under "After School Programs". If information is not yet available, see the Front Desk for an update. It will also be in the newsletter and posted on the bulletin board located outside the office next to the front door.

  • How does the School Lunch program work?

HA offers a glatt kosher hot lunch program. You may send your child with his/her own lunch (no meat please) or order a full hot lunch. Orders must be placed for the week the Friday before.

  • How do I contact my child’s teacher?

A list of teachers, staff emails and web pages is available under the "About Us" tab, then click“Teachers & Staff” on the school website. The front desk will not interrupt a class to deliver a message while school is in session, so an email message is best. Teachers will respond within 24 hours. If it’s an emergency or urgent message, please alert the front desk.

  • How can I check on my child’s homework information?

Many teachers will post homework and other class info online. Speak to your child’s teacher to verify when and where information will be. Written directions will be listed in your handbook.

  • How do I sign up for aftercare/childcare?

Contact ECE Director Chanie Perelmuter at CPerelmuter@hacds.org or call (714) 898-0051 ext. 204 for information and hours.

  • Where can I sign up for Parent Association (PA) or to volunteer?

    Check out the school website for upcoming events. There is a School Bulletin Board on the wall of the administration building. You may also find many fliers and event promos in the reception area of the front office. Please see the Volunteer Log Book at the front office as well for our policies & procedures for volunteering. This is on an honor system basis.

  • Where can I order my Shabbat challah?

You can purchase frozen dough from the cafeteria for $3.75 for 1 ½ lbs. Checks are made out to HA.
