10 Questions to help you prepare for back to school!

The time has come, school is almost back in session. As we prepare for orientation, we have a list of suggested questions to come armed with. This list isn’t exhaustive but hopefully will give you a good start. Make sure to bring a pen or pencil and something to write on!

  1. What does my child’s school day look like?

  2. What is the policy on late work and make-up work? How does it affect the student’s grade?

  3. How do absences affect the grade?

  4. How can I check on my son’s or daughter’s progress in school? Do you give weekly progress reports?

  5. How do I know what the homework is? Is there an online homework calendar?

  6. What is the teachers contact information and preferred way to be contacted?

  7. Are there field trips?

  8. How can I check in on behavior issues in the classroom?

  9. Is there anything you’d like me to do?

  10. May I volunteer in the classroom?

If you have questions regarding your child specifically, it is recommended to schedule a parent/teacher conference. Try to keep the questions for back to school night on track and relevant to all families in attendance. Your child's teacher will be much better prepared to answer questions regarding specific children in a 1:1 setting.

We can’t wait to see you!
